Sharon Lorraine Brady Smith

December 7, 1947 - June 20, 2012

Sharon Lorraine Brady Smith was born on December 7, 1947, in Alamosa, Colorado, the daughter of Leland Reece and Hannah Jackson Brady.

She was married to Terryl J. Smith on June 7, 1968, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Sharon was a 1966 graduate of Skyline High School.  She was also a graduate of Ricks College and later Adams State College, with a teaching degree.  Her biggest joy was being a wife and mother.  She worked as a substitute teacher for many years in the Alamosa Schools, and particularly enjoyed working at Evans Elementary

She also had a great love for genealogy.  Sharon wa an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with her favorite responsibilities being involved with music.  She had a very strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and received much comfort during her health struggles through this belief and the priesthood blessings she received.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, L. Reece and Hannah Jackson Brady, and her mother-in-law, ViDella Smith.

She is survived by her husband, Terryl J. Smith; children Trinette (Rocky) Southway, and Leland (Lisa) Smith; 7 grandchildren, Dustin, Nicole and Casandra Southway, and Whitney, Alex, Kalli, Kash, and new baby girl Smith who was born on June 21; father-in-law, Jack Smith.  She is also survived by sisters and brothers, Ella Westley, Judith Hammond, Nancy Curtis, Robert (Brenda) Brady, Tony (Karla) Brady, and Danny (Debbie) Brady; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gayland (Cindy) Smith, Debra (Larry) Hoover, Morris (Cindy) Smith, and Nancy (David) Hales.

Funeral services were held on Monday, June 25, at the LDS Church on 907 Weber, in Alamosa, with burial at the Manassa Cemetery.  Arrangements were in care of Rogers Family Mortuary, of Alamosa, Colorado.
