Linda Fiedler 1948 ~ 2009 Linda Ruth Christensen Fiedler, 60, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009 after a long courageous battle with breast cancer.Linda will be buried in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, UT. A memorial will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Linda's name be made to the American Cancer Society , Research Division in Breast Cancer. Linda was born April 16, 1948 in Logan, UT, to Max and Ruth Christensen. She attended Skyline High School and the University of Utah. She entered the U.S. Navy when she was 19 years old and became an Air Traffic Controller III Class in Norfolk, VA until 1968, at which time she was discharged. In 1970 she married Robert (Bob) Fiedler in Norfolk, VA. In Linda's younger years she was a fantastic "Modern Dancer", taking classes weekly for at least 12 years. She was also an avid tennis player winning many local trophies. After having her son, Robert Jr., in 1973, she and her family moved to Arlington, TX. She became an incredible seamstress, sewing costumes and cheerleading outfits for the local schools. She also liked to make wedding decorations, she was quite the artist. Linda was always a big lover of children and had a small Day Care business in her home for a short period of time. Linda's life was always full of animals. She and her husband, Bob, even fostered Irish Setter dogs, some of which they kept and loved. Every Saturday was Garage Sale day shopping for Linda. She loved to find a bargain and so enjoyed visiting with the people. Linda was non stoppable when it came to gardening. Every summer you could find her bright and early outside planting and caring for her plants. The family would like to thank Oncologist, Dr. Milam and her staff from Fort Worth, Tx, for their continued care and support of Linda during her incredible fight with cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Max D. Christensen; and brother, Paul D. Christensen. Linda is survived by her loving husband, Robert (Bob) Fiedler; son, Robert Jr., both of Arlington, TX; mother, Ruth Christensen, of Simi Valley, CA; father and mother-in-law, Amil and MaryAnn Fiedler, of Arlington, TX; sister, Dia Wolfe; brother-in-law, Kevin Wolfe; and nephew, Daniel Wolfe, all from Simi Valley, CA.
