John was best man at Paul's and my wedding. Paul and John had a lot of good hunting trips together and all the stories that went with them.

John B Fairbanks IV

John B Fairbanks IV

January 20, 1948 - July 07, 2019

John B. Fairbanks IV, beloved brother, father, husband, and friend, passed away on July 7, 2019 after an eight month struggle with kidney failure. John was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 20, 1948 to John B. Fairbanks Jr. and June LaVerne Herrmann. He was the second oldest of three children, the only boy, who, inspired by the films of Roy Rogers and John Wayne, developed a life-long passion for guns and western movies and books.

John was working as a junior staff accountant at Webb, Anderson & Company when he met the love of his life, Karren Dawn Oreno. They were married in Elko, NV on April 29, 1978. With the support of his wife, John passed his CPA exam in 1981. And, in 1982 John's hard work and dedication was rewarded when he became a partner of the accounting firm. That same year, on the same day as their initial marriage, John and Karren's love for one another was consecrated, as they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple.

Over the years, John developed a very positive reputation with his ever-growing clientele, who respected his diligence and integrity. Behind his sarcastic humor and Clint Eastwood facade was a loving man with a big heart. Often, John would help clients who struggled financially, and all of his clients considered him a trusted friend. In service to others, he was the Financial Clerk for the Millcreek Ninth Ward in Murray, Utah for about 20 years.

John is survived by his wife, Karren Oreno Fairbanks; children, John B. Fairbanks V from Houston, TX; Ryan Fairbanks (Jarica) from Rifle, CO; Angelique Fairbanks from Wheatridge, CO, Terry Naylor (Renee) from Salem, OR; Zen Naylor from Portland, OR. And, sisters, Joan Reynolds from S.L.C.; Jill Muir (Scott) from South Jordan.

A special thanks to the staff at the DaVita Dialysis Center in American Fork, and all of the devoted doctors and nurses, from other hospital facilities, who cared for John during his battle.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 20th, in the Spring Haven Ward, 2261 West 1500 North, Lehi, Utah, 84043. A celebration of life gathering will begin at 10 a.m., and the funeral services will start at 11 a.m.
