Scott Keith Jackson
1948 - 2016
Scott Keith Jackson passed away peacefully at his home April 14, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was taken from us too early by a short fight with cancer. He was born June 20, 1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Keith L. Jackson and Beulah Ranck Jackson. He served his country from 1966-1970 specializing in communications for the Navy, during this period he served a tour in Vietnam. He married Kathy McCarty in 1971 they had a son Scott Jr. 1972. They were later divorced. He married JoDell Peterson on March 27, 1986 in Las Vegas, NV. In addition to Scott Jr., Scott and Jodi had two daughters, Miranda and Megan. 
Scott was a scratch bowler, an avid golfer, and he was able to get his pilot's license, something he always wanted to do. He enjoyed socializing with all of his friends which he loved dearly. He also was very active in the VFW where he met some long time friends. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. He managed the post and served as commander of post 3586. Scott had a great sense of humor and he was generous to everyone, he will be greatly missed. 
Scott is survived by his wife, Jodi; children, Scott Jr., Miranda Simmons, and Megan Timothy(Brock); and seven grandchildren. He is survived by his mother, Beulah's sister Maudie Strode, who he was very close to, his brothers Boyd(Jo Ann) and Lyle(Mamie). His brother Lawny preceded him in death in 2006. 
A viewing will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, from 6:00 to 8:00pm.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 20, at 11:00 am the Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive, where friends and family can visit from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to the service. Interment will follow at Elysian Burial Gardens. Scott has asked that in Lieu of flowers to give donations to the VFW. http://www.vfwfoundation.org/donate
