Linda Jane Sparks Parrott

February 15, 1948 - December 15, 2021

Linda Jane Sparks Parrott, age 73, of Spanish Fork, Utah, passed away December 15, 2021, after a valiant battle with cancer. She was welcomed into heaven by her loving husband, Malcolm Parrott; parents, Leo Bruce and Dorothy Hardman Sparks; and sister, Jean Chatfield. She will be so greatly missed by her adoring family: daughter, Leslie Parrott; and granddaughter, Michelle (Landon); and great-granddaughter, Emery Graff; daughter, Christine (Chris) Musick; and grandchildren: Danielle, Josh, Zack and Noelle; and daughter, Nicole (Jake) Norris; and grandchildren: Ashley, Aaron, Brandon, and Beckham , as well as her brothers Bob (Arita) Sparks and Ron (Shelley) Sparks and sister Judy (Nathan) Richards. Her family was Linda’s greatest gift and she held them close to her heart, having faith in the promise of eternal families.

Fortunate to live in many places, Linda always found home where her family was, with fond memories of her mom’s dress shop in Monticello, UT, graduating from Skyline High School and living in Mount Olympus Cove in Salt Lake City, UT, modeling and planning parties in Arcadia, CA, finding a wonderful community of friends and neighbors in West Bloomfield, MI, serving in her ward in Laguna Hills, CA, enjoying the warmth of friends and family in Goodyear, AZ, and gathering her family and cheering on her grandchildren in Spanish Fork, UT. She appreciated the beauty in nature and was always up for an adventure. She loved long drives into the Utah mountains, along the Southern California coast, and with her grandkids. She shared history and stories about every place she visited. She saw beauty all around and found joy in every road trip and journey.

In true Linda fashion, classy to the end, she made the ordinary extraordinary, found ways to celebrate the little things each day, found miracles in the magic of everyday moments, and spread joy wherever she went. This is the story of her life. Her favorite times were spent celebrating her children and grandchildren, their hard work, talents, and accomplishments. She put the needs of others above herself, always giving from the heart. Everything she did carried a personal touch. A visit from Linda was always a gift, whether it was a phone call, a text, a chat at work, or showing up on your porch with a smile or small gift that made her think of you that day—she was all in. She cared specifically about the individual and delighted in letting others know they were truly loved.

Linda had a gift for connecting with people and found great joy in the gathering of others. She was a friend to all and had friends in all places, always having a personal story to share. She thought of others to the very end, making every effort to help them feel important in her life. There was never a question of her love for you since every visit was a celebration of it. She found in life that laughter and adventures with friends were some of the best medicine. How grateful we are that she was blessed by visits and an outpouring of love these past few weeks by those she has impacted along her own journey. The path was not always straight, the journey not always easy; but, without a doubt, we all knew Linda’s greatest treasures were found in her faith, friends, family, temple bonds, and relationships that will extend for eternity.

Linda leaves a legacy of light, love, and service. She knew that joy comes from serving and using our individual gifts and talents, great and small, to bring light and love to others each day. Always there to greet you with a smile and warm embrace, we know that is exactly how her heavenly reunion was with her many loved ones. Linda was a gatherer, a tour guide, a storyteller, a memory maker, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, a wife, and a daughter. In whatever role she assumed, she gave her all. She found comfort in her Savior Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, to the very end. Her greatest hope was that her loved ones continue with faith in Christ, finding gladness all around, sharing love and testimony with others, and creating everyday moments that bring joy to the world. We could think of no better time to celebrate her than at this special time of year, where we honor the birth of the Savior, the joy in giving, and the peace and hope that love brings.

Graveside Services will be held at Spanish Fork City Cemetery, Monday, December 20, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. with a celebration at the Musick home immediately following. We invite all who knew and loved Linda to share a memory or story of her.

Her final wish was to bring comfort to children with cancer by making fleece tie blankets. In lieu of flowers, the family is collecting blanket donations. Please contact any of Linda’s daughters if you would like to take part.

Linda & I met on the first day of our sophomore year. We became best friends from that day on & until the end. We shared lots of laughter, tears, & secrets. We always had each other's backs & shared everything with each other. Her children her pride & joy, & were friends with my children. When my daughter passed away a year earlier, supported me & was helped me get thru it. She was always willing to listen, regardless of what time it was. Linda was always a happy & positive person. She always worried about others more than herself, right up to the end. Linda was definitely a very special person, & God broke the mold after he made Linda. We still had lots of plans to complete & will miss all the times we spent together & the times we will now miss together. Linda    told me several times & right up to the end she was ready to go & looking forward to seeing & being with Mal again. I always told her what our friendship all these years meant to me, that I loved her, & it wasn't suppose to end this way. I am so happy that Linda had family members to meet & greet her when she arrives in heaven. I love you & miss you so much Linda Lue! You are in my heart & thoughts forever. I can't wait until we catch up again, & we can laugh together forever! I miss you so much! 💔🌹
