Bob and I grew up in the same neighborhood and ward.  I didn't know him very well until mid way through collage when we started to hang out.  I found out how much fun he was...a very creative dater and person.  We'd go to drive in movies on his motorcycle, lay out the blanket and eat and laugh half the night.  We'd go to concerts at Lagoon...(we saw the Rolling Stones there, before they were very big.)  He was a fabulous writer.  I still have many poems and stories he wrote.  He loved driving too fast (Karmann Ghia), snowmobiles, concerts and movies. He never let me forget it that when I dumped his motorcycle, I bent his handlebars.  (He was on the back.)   It was devastating when he died on his motorcycle in 1970...just a few weeks after Doug and I were married.   One of the hardest things I ever did in my life was saying a prayer at his funeral.

Bob was in my husband Alan Eastman's ward, and remembers that he was asked to (and did) play Beatles music at his funeral.  It was perfect.
