Kent Hansen Crockett

Born May 1, 1948 --  Preston, ID         Died April 2, 2008 -- Phoenix, AZ

Kent was born in Preston, Idaho.  His famly moved to Salt Lake City, where they lived on Yosemite Drive.  Kent was a member of the LDS Church, and loved the Church scouting program.  As a young man, he helped his father at the family gas station, where he developed a lifelong love for cars.  He graduated from Skyline High School in 1966.  Kent then moved to Tucson, AZ to attend college.  On Jan.22, 1976, he married Christine Carlson in Las Cruces, NM.  Kent worked as a security guard in Las Cruces while Christine attended college.  Kent offered Christine a wedding ring or a Datsun roadster when they married.  She picked the Datsun, so they spent a lot of time on the road traveling and visiting new destinations.  They eventually moved to Phoenix, AZ where their chilren, Amber (1981) and Aaron (1983), were born.  Kent and Chris raised their children in Phoenix, where Kent was like a second father to his children's friends.  Kent continued to work on cars, but mostly in his home garage.  He was employed by Pace Setter/St. Jude Medical.  Each year, Kent and Chris vacationed with their children in Salt Lake City, at which time they always visited Lagoon.  Kent died suddenly of a stroke on April 2, 2008.  His offer of friendship to all, and his sense of humor are two great qualities for which he is remembered.  He is survived by his wife, children, and a sister, Diane Spiesman.
