Lynn Earl Barker

January 28, 1948 - January 17, 2022  

Lynn Earl Barker, 73, of Salt Lake City, Utah, peacefully passed away on January 17, 2022, surrounded by family, after a difficult battle with ALS.

Lynn was born on January 25, 1948, to Earl Willard Barker and Myrle (Caffall) Barker in Salt Lake City, Utah. After graduating from Skyline High School in 1966 Lynn served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the British Isles.

Upon returning from his mission Lynn attended Brigham Young University and graduated cume laude with a degree in communications in 1974. While attending school he dated and married the love of his life Beverly Brown, who he knew from childhood. They married in 1970 and celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on September 3, 2021. Lynn and Beverly are the parents of 6 children and 21 grandchildren. His family was the focus of his efforts in life, and they brought him the greatest joy.

Lynn loved to serve whether it was in his callings in church or filling needs around him. He spent many Christmases providing joy for children as Santa Claus. Lynn was always willing to step up to meet the needs of family, friends and even strangers around him.

Communications launched a lifelong career in Sales beginning with computers and quickly transitioning to medical. Lynn worked in general pharmaceuticals focusing on Cardiovascular and Respiratory. He then jumped to specialty pharmaceuticals. He held positions in sales, field sales trainer and regional manager and wrote a corporate training manual on Breast Cancer. He later worked with Oncology and Hematology. He specialized for over 20 years in hemophilia and serving the hemophilia community became his passion. He was instrumental in establishing theNACCO program in Arizona. NACCO is an education and camp program to support professionals and to develop programs to assist the hemophilia community. He completed his career with OctaPharma. retiring in January 2021. Because of his devoted service and work efforts his coworkers dubbed him SuperMan upon his retirement.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents Earl Willard and Myrle (Caffall) Barker and in-laws Warren Beverly and Mona (Chamberlain) Brown. He is survived by his Wife Beverly (Brown) Barker, his two brothers William Craig Barker (Susan), and Gary Lee Barker, six children Aimee Lyn Potts (Kevin), Allyson Barker, Douglas Joseph Barker (Sarah Garrett), Alyssa Jensen (Paul), Anndrea Watson (Gavin) Abbigayle Hunt (Sean), and 21 grandchildren Marshall Lynn Potts (Adelle), Mercinia Grace Potts, Spencer Douglas Barker, Chamberlain Paul Jensen, Emma Ruth Barker, Savill Esther Jensen,Warren Marcus Potts, Sara May Barker, Beverly Rose Potts, Naomi Myrle Jensen, Jane Francis Barker, Lydia Elle Jensen, Preston Henry Barker, Sariah Ann Jensen, Penny Jo Barker, Athena Vivian Hunt, Aurelia Josephine Hunt, Maisyn Luna Watson, Robert Bodhi Watson, Iliana Belen Hunt and Simon Max Barker.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at the Meadow Heights Ward, 4310 South 3200 West, West Valley City, UT. A viewing will be held on Friday evening, January 21, 2022, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah and Saturday morning from 10:30 - 11:30 am prior to the services at the church.
