Ruth Jane Hill Soper (AKA Sky Jane Natoni)
March 6, 1948 – December 11, 2022
Jane was born March 6, 1948 in Los Angeles, California to George Blood Hill and Thelma Irene Orman Hill. Later, the family welcomed a son, Charles Hill, Jane's brother and only sibling.
Jane’s family moved to Utah where Jane attended Skyline High School, graduating in 1966.
She married Nyle R. Soper November 22, 1967. Together, they became the parents of four daughters and a son. (See accompanying picture from 1980.)
In 1989 Jane and Nyle were divorced. Jane changed her name to Sky Jane Natoni at the time of her divorce.
Jane enjoyed good espresso, fast cars, and expensive chocolate. She had several tattoos and loved escaping to Westport, Washington, for the weekend to seek inspiration for her oil painting. A retired City of Tacoma employee, Sky became a writer late in life and had several books in development at the time of her passing.
Jane passed away December 11, 2022, at the age of 74 while residing in Lakewood, Washington. At the time of her passing, she was dealing with multiple sclerosis. She is survived by her brother, Charles Hill; daughters Cynthia Ann Soper, Heather Marks, Amy Natoni, Tiffany Bourquin; and son Michael Hampton; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and her former husband, Nyle R. Soper.
Jane’s services and disposition were handled by Edwards Crematory in Lakewood, Washington.
