Dec. 3, 1947 -  May 19, 2023

ST. GEORGE — Carl Alma Lambert arrived in this world on December 3, 1947.  His parents, Quayle Cannon and Bertha Buehner Lambert had received a little slice of heaven.

He met JoAnn Salerno on a blind date in January 1970 and they were married five months later in the Salt Lake City temple.

Carl spent the majority of his career as a contractor in the cabinet business. He and JoAnn raised their family in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, until 2005 when they moved to St. George, Utah, to continue living and loving life in year-round sunshine.

Carl is survived by his wife JoAnn, daughter Sherri (Joel), sons Gary (Kyanne) and Lance (Desiree) and eight grandkids he adored.

He is also survived by his sisters Carol, Joyce and Jean and brothers Fred and Rob. Carl was preceded in death by his parents and brother Raymond.

Carl and I have known each other since we were 6 years old.  He grew up a few doors down the street.  Our ward was so fun because of people like Steve Hyte, Doug Anderson, Skip Chase, Dean Hamilton, Dave Chipman, Lee England, Sharon DeHaan, Lloyd Harmon, Nancy Woods, Dave McKay, Sharon Brady, Lorraine Peterson, Kris Keddington etc.  We all grew up togehter.  After getting married Carl and his family moved right across the street from my family.  We raised our children together for 20 years.  I was golfing with Carl and Dave McKay 2 months before Carl's death.  This one is a shocker for me.  RIP Carl.

Sad to hear. Carl was a great guy. We served in the same mission -- the Central Atlantic States mission.

This makes one realize we are all getting older.

I'm so sorry to read of Carl's passing. I was reading his obituary and Jack's comments to my wife, Jana, and she said, "wait, I know Carl Lambert. He used to work for my dad at Craftsman Kitchens." That was 50 years ago, long before I met Jana. It is a small world and we never know how often our paths cross.
