I was the kind of person in High School who few people noticed, but Mike was the kind of person who couldn't be missed.  Tall, thick black hair and a lot of confidance. He was a people magnet and I hope people continued to stick with him throughout his life.. Marcia Alley Scoville

Though I did not know Mike as a close friend, I did know him over the years.  He was always nice to me and others and was a severly independent sort of a guy.  I do remember going to his apartment when we were Seniors in High School for a party and was amazed he was able to have an apartment at his young age.  I hope Mike had a great life with lots of joy and happiness along the way.

I knew Mike from Elementary school (Canyon Rim) We weren't that close but we were friends. We were still friendly through the Skyline years too. I bumped into him many years later in the old corner bar in Sugarhouse and we had a good visit. I wasn't 'popular' in Skyline, as he was, but he still was friendly to me. RIP my friend.

Mike and I were good friends during our early elementary school years.  As the years went on, we had different interests and we disconnected but I will always remember Mike fondly.  Two memories stand out.  We went roller skating as youngsters (and I think Woody Terry was also involved).  Also, Mike was the best little league baseball player hands down (Glendy Vincent was un-hittable as a pitcher but he was a year ahead of us).  Thanks for the great memories Mike.  John Gough.

Mike was one of the most gifted athletes I have ever seen.  I played Automotive Baseball with him one year and he amazed me.  He was a star on the Evergreen Jr basketball team.  I watched him score 40 points in one of our sophomore basketball games.  The next week he was on the varsity team.  I am grateful for memories of this gifted individual and friend.

Hello, to all those who have had their lives enhanced by Mike. Yes John, I was a good friend with mike in those days at Canyon Rim too. He was a good friend. Sorry to have lost contact as school life went on. I totally agree to all who have commented about Mike. I am blessed to have had Mike's friendship in our early years. John, so glad to hear your words. You are still a great friend. It's good to spark up our memories of old. Carry on good friends,  Woody

Michael Andrew Martin, 74, of San Diego, California, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on February 7, 2022 from an extended illness.

Mike was born January 12, 1948 to parents William (Bill) and Tyleen Martin in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mike spent his childhood in Salt Lake City attending Skyline High School and then Viewmont High School in Bountiful as a senior. Mike had many good years in Salt Lake, but was drawn to San Diego and the Pacific Beach area in the mid 80's where he built another group of close friendships. He was very social and always working to bring family and friends together. The family always enjoyed visiting Mike in San Diego.

He is survived by his son Matt(Peggy) and his daughter Trevell Tyleen Martin Goodfellow, brother Steven (Jill) along with 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Tyleen.
