Annette Rasmussen Curtis
January 3, 1948 ~ September 7, 2024
Holladay, UT-Amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Annette graduated from this world September 7, 2024 surrounded by her loving family and friends during their final moments together.
She was born on January 3, 1948 in Murray, Utah to R. Philip Rasmussen and Donna Irene Mulcock. Annette's family moved into the ward of Richard Lindsay Curtis where, upon seeing Annette for the first time in sacrament meeting, he knew it was love at first sight and asked her to a fireside that very night. Annette attended Skyline High School where she participated in many activities, including Pep Club and relished the memories with her many friends there.
After dating this dashing basketball player from her rival high school and writing him on his mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mom and Dad were married June 12, 1969 in the Salt Lake Temple. Their marriage was the start of 55 happy years together.
Mom and Dad moved to Provo, UT for Annette to finish her degree at BYU in Child Development & Elementary Education. While at BYU, she also enjoyed being a member of Angel Flight.
Soon after, Mom and Dad moved to Lincoln Nebraska for dental and orthodontic school for six years. After Dad graduated, they moved to Salt Lake where they raised their five daughters.
Mom had a strong testimony of the gospel with unwavering faith in Christ. She has had a righteous impact on her children and grandchildren, who will influence many generations to come. She was very involved in her church callings – always serving tirelessly regardless of where she served. Mom always gave her calling 110%, including her service in the University of Utah sororities for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was an advisor to the RHO chapter and then as an interchapter leader for Lamba Delta Sigma, where she felt great love for these ladies who served together. They felt they held the "Celestial Calling." Mom was every young woman's friend, showing them love, kindness and yummy treats. Mom loved her time serving at the U and has always cherished those friendships.
Mom and Dad were fortunate to serve together later in life at an YSA ward in the U of U area and on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Johannesburg, South Africa. Their service was marked by selflessness and deep commitments to their faith, fellow missionaries, and countless members. And, to this day, they have enjoyed the reunions held with fellow senior couples from their mission.
Mom taught us all the true character of charity as she endlessly loved, served and fed those around her. With her daughters in tow, she would bring dinner to a family, clean a house, help with laundry, or bring a treat to a neighbor. We all learned from her example and have tried to emulate what she stood for. Affectionately known as "Nettie" to many, all felt welcome, loved, and well-fed with good treats while in her home.

What a difficult obituary to read..a dear kind sweet forever friend passing already..Annette Rasmussen Curtis. She was a childhood friend growing up near the street from me, the unforgettable days in Pep Club, & her kindness as a first-year roomie at BYU...she was a fireball! Her enthusiasm for life and experiencing joy along the way paved the path for me that I will always be so grateful for. Her legacy as a friend, faithful mom, talented kind lady will never be forgotten.

Rick Curtis, Annette's husband told me at the viewing that "for the first time in 20 years Annette was out of pain."
