With profound sadness we announce the passing of Mary Ann "Toodie" Houston who passed away peacefully on December 15, 2018. Toodie was born on June 5, 1948 in Salt Lake City, UT to Harry R. and Mary Sutton. She is the beloved mother of James and Anna Marie. Toodie loved her family and instilled in them strong values and beliefs. Toodie worked for UDOT for 31 years before retiring where she made many lifelong friends. She unselfishly gave to others and enjoyed her volunteer work with various senior centers and Catholic parishes. She was loved and respected in her community. She loved color and enjoyed making things grow. She was passionate about her hobbies and crafts. She created beautiful arrangements and was highly skilled with a BINGO dauber and crochet hooks. She emitted kindness and understanding. She was a friend to all whose lives she touched. She will always be remembered as a bright shining light. Toodie is survived by her children James and Anna Marie (Booker) Tueller, siblings Harry (Toni) Sutton and Julie Sutton and seven grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents and brother Bill. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at St. Vincent De Paul Parish, 1375 E. Spring Lane in Holladay beginning at 11AM. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
